Rochester NY Food Truck Rodeo

Rochester Public Market hosts a food truck rodeo every last Wednesday of each month from April through September, featuring local food trucks and live music.

Jim Farr, Director of the Public Market, was inspired to organize this Food Truck Rodeo after attending similar events in Florida. These typically attract thousands of attendees.

Food

Rochester Public Market hosts food truck rodeos every third Wednesday from April through September from 5-9 p.m. These events feature local food trucks and live music; guests should bring chairs or folding tables. They are family-friendly, but no pets are allowed at these free events.

Beginning in 2011, aftermarket director Aaron Green attended a similar food truck rodeo in Orlando, Florida; he brought back the idea and worked with staff and John Urlab of Rohrbach’s Brewery to organize this annual tradition for thousands of visitors to enjoy delicious bites while listening to local musicians perform live.

Food trucks at the rodeo allow customers to sample new dishes. One such popular truck at this year’s rodeo is KO-BQ, owned by Clay Kim, offering Korean BBQ featuring beef, chicken, and pork options; it has quickly become a student and family favorite at events across North Carolina. Other popular food truck options at this year’s rodeo include Macarollin, which sells gourmet macaroni and cheese; Sweet Sammie Janes, offering beignets as well as pastries; as well as Macarollin which sells gourmet macaroni and cheese.

Drinks

Food truck rodeos are events held by food trucks throughout a region to showcase their delectable cuisine and provide live musical performances. Held in different venues around town and usually free to attend, these events also offer various beverages to sample–both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available at these events – making a food truck rodeo ideal for sampling! Attendees must bring along their water bottles.

Food truck rodeos have become an annual Rochester tradition. Held on the last Wednesday of each month between April and September, these events offer food enthusiasts the chance to try various cuisines while listening to live music in Rochester.

Visitors may bring their own chairs and folding tables to the event; however, no outside food or beverages are allowed; smoking and pets are also prohibited at this venue. As part of an initiative led by the Independent Health Foundation, every food truck offers at least one Healthy Options menu item as part of this event.

Rochester Public Market’s food truck rodeos had become an annual tradition until coronavirus took over and forced it closed, but next week’s event should resume with some of the same vendors present; director Jim Farr is anticipating an impressive turnout.

Entertainment

Rochester Public Market hosts its Food Truck Rodeo each last Wednesday of each month from April through September – free and open to the public! This event showcases local and regional food trucks and live musical entertainment.

Food trucks at this event offer dishes for every palate, culture, and diet imaginable – from the Roc City Sammich truck to Brunch Box catering specialists – providing mouthwatering options to caterers at this event. In addition, there’s the Roll’n Deep truck serving incredible Asian Fusion dishes, and Bubble Tea creations along with Roll’n Deep’s Bubble Tea offerings; Sweet Sammie Janes provides expertly prepared Coffee and Dessert options on wheels!

Many food trucks are small businesses that rely on events like the Food Truck Rodeo for income. As the pandemic has proven difficult, owners like Nicole Nitti of KONA Ice of Genesee Valley Truck had to adjust their business models accordingly and focus more on online orders than before.

Rochester Public Market’s Food Truck Rodeo is an exciting event for foodies of all kinds and is scheduled for Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. It is free admission, but bring a blanket or folding chair as sitting space is limited; pets are not permitted, and outside food or beverages cannot be brought into the marketplace.

Parking
