Jim Farr, Director of the Public Market, was inspired to organize this Food Truck Rodeo after attending similar events in Florida. These typically attract thousands of attendees.

Rochester Public Market hosts food truck rodeos every third Wednesday from April through September from 5-9 p.m. These events feature local food trucks and live music; guests should bring chairs or folding tables. They are family-friendly, but no pets are allowed at these free events.
Beginning in 2011, aftermarket director Aaron Green attended a similar food truck rodeo in Orlando, Florida; he brought back the idea and worked with staff and John Urlab of Rohrbach’s Brewery to organize this annual tradition for thousands of visitors to enjoy delicious bites while listening to local musicians perform live.
Food trucks at the rodeo allow customers to sample new dishes. One such popular truck at this year’s rodeo is KO-BQ, owned by Clay Kim, offering Korean BBQ featuring beef, chicken, and pork options; it has quickly become a student and family favorite at events across North Carolina. Other popular food truck options at this year’s rodeo include Macarollin, which sells gourmet macaroni and cheese; Sweet Sammie Janes, offering beignets as well as pastries; as well as Macarollin which sells gourmet macaroni and cheese.
Drinks
Food truck rodeos are events held by food trucks throughout a region to showcase their delectable cuisine and provide live musical performances. Rochester Public Market’s Food Truck Rodeo is an exciting event for foodies of all kinds and is scheduled for Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. It is free admission, but bring a blanket or folding chair as sitting space is limited; pets are not permitted, and outside food or beverages cannot be brought into the marketplace.

Bike commuters will also find accessing the Food Truck Rodeo festival via bike easy, with numerous bike racks and loops throughout the downtown area. Public transit also makes for convenient travel between the airport and downtown locations – regular buses and streetcar services run regularly between these areas.
