Rishell doesn’t regret choosing Learning Links for her son Cristobal even though he didn’t pass the state reading test (he reads at kindergarten level), as reading scores only reflect how children perform on tests; my son has both the drive and aptitude to learn,” she stated.

Saint Athanasius Parish

Saint Athanasius Parish is an intimate community of baptized believers dedicated to living out the Gospel calls to promote justice and equality for all people. We aspire to live a life filled with active prayer – both public and private; encouraging a sense of inclusion during its activities and the celebration of sacraments.

Bishop Regis Canevin and Father A.M. Yochum founded St. Athanasius Parish as a church-school community on April 25, 1907. The first church-school building was dedicated on June 6, 1909. Over time, St. Athanasius Parish expanded and modernized its facilities; today, it features an expansive church complex consisting of a parish center, garage, parish hall (gymnasium), school buildings, and athletic fields.

In the 1960s, the parish responded to its growing needs by adapting how it celebrated Mass and offering Mass in English, giving its congregation greater participation. Furthermore, they established an Italian apostolate and later added Korean and Spanish ones.

Honesty is an important virtue that fosters healthy relationships and supports organizations and societies. Honesty is the cornerstone of strong families and communities and is integral to the Catholic faith. We can learn much from looking to the Saints as examples of honest living – such as Blessed Francesco Marto and Jacinta Marto, St. Kateri Tekakwitha, and Saint Athanasius for guidance.
